Boy Scouts of America Prepared for Life

Welcome to Troop 331

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. If our troop interests you, we would appreciate the chance to let you meet our troop.

Please feel free to come to one of our meetings. We are a “scout-led” troop with a great group of adults supporting our scouts. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Camping Opportunities

Outdoor camping is an integral part of Scouting. Troop 331 camps once per month, and provides the tents, patrol cookware, dining fly, cooking stoves, and lanterns. Each scout provides his own camping gear (see recommended equipment list).

Monthly campout cost is $25 per campout, payable to the Troop Treasurer by the Monday prior to the campout. Sign-up for campouts is two weeks prior to the event.

Troop 331 scouts go to week-long summer camp every year, usually in June. See our calendar for summer camp dates.

To help our treasurer document expense reimbursements, a simple and easy-to-use expense reimbursement form has been created for leaders and parents to fill out when requesting an expense reimbursement from the troop. Click here to download the form in Excel format.

Scoutmaster Corner

Recent months have been very busy. Camporee, summer camp, SeaBase, Philmont prep hikes and Philmont. We also have OA conclave, merit badge college, and who knows what else.

Not everyone can do everything and that is understood. We all do what we can and make decisions as best as possible. I firmly believe that scouting has many comparisons to running a marathon. During a run, you have ups and downs at various times, but what is important is that you continue to make forward progress and do not stop. At times, you may run fast and at other times you may be walking. But in the end, crossing the finish line and being able to appreciate your accomplishment is the ultimate reward.

Everyone understands that not everyone can do everything, but don’t stop making progress. Crossing the finish line is worth the effort.
